Peanut Butter Product Recall

Dear Wazoogles customer,

Today, we reach out to you not just as a brand, but as a member of your extended family, to share a matter that requires our collective attention.

During our routine in-house quality checks, we discovered that batches of our Original and Dark Roast Peanut Butter, manufactured between May and December 2023, contained aflatoxin levels above the safety limits set by South African health regulations. Aflatoxin, a naturally occurring fungus, may pose health risks when present above a certain threshold, prompting us to take immediate action to protect our customers.

This discovery points to a rare occurrence in our supply chain related to one of our third-party providers. We are taking precautionary and mitigatory measures to address this as a matter of urgency.

Note that this incident is isolated to our peanut butter range and does not affect any other Wazoogles products, which continue to meet the high standards of quality and safety you have come to trust.

What We Are Doing and Recalled Products:
As a precaution and in alignment with our values of care and responsibility, we are voluntarily recalling the impacted peanut butter batches.

Any batch numbers that begin with 21 - 51 are included in the recall. Example: Batch: 21/23J - 51/23C. As well as Squeezy Pack batches JP002 and Food service Bulk batches: B861, B921, B1021, and B1167. If you have any concerns about whether your batch is affected, please feel free to contact us.

We hope you recognise this as a testament to our commitment to transparency and integrity. Rest assured, we are taking every step to rectify this issue and ensure it remains an isolated incident. Our peanut butter range will be temporarily out of stock as we work diligently to resolve the matter fully.

What to Do: The Refund Process:

If you have purchased our peanut butter directly through wazoogles.com from May 2023 onwards, we ask that you return them to our CT Warehouse (address below). For a full refund, please send us a screenshot of your order confirmation along with your bank details and name. Your health, trust, and satisfaction are paramount, and we are here to support you.

OTHER STORES:
If you have bought your Wazoogles peanut butter from any other retailer, please go into the store for a full refund. We have communicated directly with them.
